Autumn Gold Kennel is a small, family run kennel, nestled in the unglaciated hills of Southwestern Wisconsin. We typically only breed for one litter per year and the parents of these litters are family pets.
We have been raising Goldens for over two decades. The first 17 years we raised the American Goldens. Although we love the American Goldens dearly, after doing some extensive research on health differences, we decided to switch over to the English Cream Goldens. The English Cream Goldens (European) are believed to be healthier and their life expectancy is approximately one year longer. It is our opinion that the European Breeders are held to a higher breed standard and practice necessary regulations for optimum K-9 reproduction. The English Creams are heartier, healthier and just plain gorgeous. Their temperament seems even sweeter than the American Goldens - they are truly people dogs.
One of our girls, Gracie, is presently used as a therapy dog in a senior rehab center in southern Wisconsin. Gracie can motivate patients to do activities when human therapists cannot. Our other girl, Athena, and our male, Dakota, have, in the not too distant past, been used as therapy dogs with disabled adults in a group home setting.
